As one of your constituents, I hope you vote for a swift and decisive retaliation for the atrocities committed against American sovereignty on American soil.

 Simply "getting those responsible" will not solve the problem.  Terrorism will not decline until those responsible feel the full wrath of our great nation.  These people do not think the way we do and obviously do not hold our ideals and therefore cannot be dealt with "reasonably."  We must cause them FAR more pain than they have caused us, or they will never stop.  Even if we resort to causing these terrorists an "equitable" amount of pain they will not stop.  There will always be another suicide bomber waiting to attack our country.  These people need to think: “if we give America trouble, then we will have TOO much trouble.”

We have practiced "restraint" and "diplomacy" for 3 decades.  Where has it gotten us?  Thousands dead on OUR OWN SOIL!  Billions in damages.  It is atrocious to even think about this affront to our people.  The time for restraint ended September 11, 2001.

We are the laughing stock of terrorist organizations around the world and the countries where these organizations train for their vile deeds.  If America presents a weak image to the world we risk becoming a target for ALL of our current and future enemies.  The repercussions of not acting in a grave but forthright attack could have a chilling affect on Americans for generations to come. 

Merely reacting to each attack as it occurs does nothing to stop future attacks.  If we increase airport security, how will that stop a chemical attack in another city?  If we have gas-masks everywhere, how will that stop a nuclear suitcase-bomb?  We need far-reaching changes in fundamental issues like immigration, border protection, military strength, military intelligence, and foreign policy.

The time for weakness has passed.  We need to hurt them more than they've hurt us, or this will be only the beginning.
