Orcas (Killer Whales) living at Sea World, San Diego

This is Splash

He is a male, about 9 years old. In the above picture, you can see that his teeth are missing, the result of an accident while roughhousing. (the roots got infected..)

Compare his size with below:

Here is Corky:

She is about 37 years old. Her most distinctive mark is the notch on her left fluke. (Kasatka has a notch on the right.) She is longer then Ulysses, but Ulysses is much bulkier.

Orkid is 12 years old:

Slightly larger than Splash, she seems to have a "perfect complexion" which makes it difficult (for me, at least) to positively identify her. The shape of her genital spot distinguishes her from the other females.

Takara has a stain (birthmark) on her lower jaw.

Summar, at 1 year old.

Keto at 4.
These two pictures were taken on their very first day in California.(3-9-1999) Keto is now in Texas.

Summar has been playing with Corky and Bjossa, recently. He's grown quite a bit, and is now 3.

And of course, Ulysses, the largest Orca at San Diego. He weighs in at 9000 pounds. He is slightly shorter than Corky (inches) but a lot bigger around.

These pictures are all full size, for personal use.
