Begin to create a web page.

(You can download and install Arachnophilia for use at home. Do not use the Netscape or IE editor) Use either getty.txt (from the website) or a couple of paragraphs of your own for your content. Use the basic.htm page as your template. Your page must include the following:

A HEAD section and a BODY section with at least two paragraphs of text.

In the HEAD section

Create a useful TITLE that describes your page
Put a META tag in your page, using "subject" for the name attribute. Provide at least one subject term.

In the BODY section

Create a HEADING for your page that is not identical to the TITLE of your page
Modify the BODY tag to add either the background color or to add a graphic to the background of your page. (You can either use an image from the class web site or capture one of your own for your page.)
Modify the BODY tag to change the color of your text and links. (Use the browser-safe colors from the 'Class Tools' page.)

Use structure tags to layout your content:

include at least one heading and two paragraphs of text
Put a list (UL or OL) in your page with at least three items in it
Use ADDRESS, PRE, or BLOCKQUOTE to create a special section of your page. This text should be at least several lines long. Put a horizontal line above and below it.

At the bottom of the page put in a horizontal line, your name & class, & the date. Include your email address if you have one (Similar to the bottom of this page.)
