Senior Engineering Support Analyst (2002 -2003)

Responsible for support of Network operating systems, SAN environments, and program product software to ensure a stable production environment for WND engineering system users.  Interface with Intel global IT, end user, and vendor organizations to solve user and system related problems

 

·        Successfully integrated Xircom acquisition legacy computing environment to Intel IT standard computing environment to meet engineering cross-site collaboration needs. Managed multiple projects from the discovery and planning phases through implementation and sustaining, resulting in a more robust, scalable, and reliable computing environment.

 

·        Managed consolidation and upgrade of the Thousand Oaks EMC Storage Area Network environment. Responsible for the allocation and assignment of disk space required for staging and movement of WND data for the Thousand Oaks site shutdown project.

 

·        Supported and upgraded the Engineering Design Computing Environment and CAD tools to enable Southern California based Intel engineers to effectively collaborate with Engineers in remote international sites.

 

Manager, Network Operating Systems (1998 – 2002)

Managed a cross site team of network engineers in multi-state locations while maintaining day-to-day operations for file, print, application and web server environments; maintained production and development data centers, including LAN, SAN, UPS and tape backup infrastructures; negotiated and maintained hardware and software maintenance agreements. Interfaced with co-IT groups from End User Computing and Application development to insure seamless delivery of services to internal users.

 

·        Successfully migrated the Xircom Novell Netware file and print environment, and NT4 Domain infrastructure to Win2k in the Intel Active Directory, resulting in an annual cost savings of $25,000 in software maintenance agreements and an Intel IT Division Recognition Award for the success of the project.

·        Managed and implemented the successful end-of-life and consolidation\migration project for all NT based resource servers, resulting in an annual cost savings to the division of $30,000 by effectively utilizing surplus hardware.

 

Senior Network Administrator/Engineer (1994 – 1998)

Responsible for engineering, administration and maintenance of Xircom’s 500+ node corporate network. Senior Lotus Notes Administrator responsible for reliable efficient messaging throughout the enterprise. Tier 2 client support for Xircom’s end user computing group. Remote support for international enterprise operations in Belgium, Malaysia, Singapore, Japan and Australia.

 

·        Effectively managed multiple corporate Netware version upgrades, including NDS design, implementation, UNIX and MAC interoperability, and Novell’s NDS for NT to support of a single sign-on solution in a heterogeneous Microsoft/Novell environment.

 

·        Established and maintained Compaq Insight Manager as the corporate standard to monitor and provide proactive fault and configuration management for the operation of all Compaq file and application servers.

 

·        Managed enterprise migration from cc:mail to Lotus Notes. Designed mail routing and replication schemes to all remote enterprise locations including Internet messaging. Implemented a proactive mail monitoring system to monitor potential mail bottlenecks.

 

Packard Bell, Westlake, California                                                                  1993 – 1994

Supervisor, Network Services

Supervised team of network in-house technicians for integration and support of Microsoft LanManager with SNA connectivity to IBM AS/400 corporate computer system.

 

  • Teamed with support staff members to re-locate and bring on-line all damaged systems as a result of the 1994 Northridge Earthquake. Functional systems were up and running within 3 days at the new business location in Westlake California.
