Deane and I were quite shocked when we found out that we were having twins. I was at the doctor's office with Deane watching the ultrasound and had noticed what looked like a shadow of the egg sack the doctor was showing us.  I really didn't think much about this shadow at the time but, when he said that we were having twins, I had the sudden and almost uncontrollable need to sit down.  The nurse thought I was going to pass out and I won't deny that if I had attempted to remain standing I probably would have.  Deane was a little more composed then I but she was already lying down. I remember her shedding a few tears and she had a kind of nervous giggle. The shock has subsided a little now, but I am not sure that having twins is something that Deane and I will ever completely recover from.
