Party Report
8th Annual Scrawl-on-the-Wall
Introduction
Every year on the weekend before Memorial Day, I host a "Scrawl" party. All my friends are invited to come over and participate. I cover one entire wall with blank paper, and I give my friends crayons and colored pens. All they have to bring is their imagination and creativity.
Narrative
This year was no different than any other. The party started with
a blank wall. The adults are often tentative, not wanting to be the first to draw, but the kids jump right in! Also I got to play with my friends children.Everyone started to loosen up, so I had a big
group of people all drawing at once. Here's another view of the group! (I'm the guy on his knees towards the left)Some people take some time to decide what they're going to draw, like
my friend Alicia. But once she gets started, she's awesome! Another friend, Jes, carefully prepares a sketch before approaching the daunting wall. I loved Tina's creation. While the drawing was going on, there was also a group of people who got together and played cards during the party. We had a
birthday cake, because it was my friend Sue's birthday that day: Happy Birthday Sue!Everyone had a great time, and I ended up with a
fully decorated wall!
