This is a summary of my recent visit to Rome, Italy. (as usual, all times shown are Pacific Time, so you have to add 9 hr to know the Rome local time for when the pic was really taken)

I did a walking tour, and saw the famous Spanish Steps (061.jpg).  This is the emblem of the current Pope (063).  The Trevi Fountain was beautiful! (068)  And in higher rez (071).  This is the Italian flag and the European Union (I forget what the 3rd flag was, 074).  This is the entrance to the Pantheon (078).  Inside is a marker for Rafael’s grave (084).  We finished up at St. Paul’s Cathedral (089) in St. Peter’s Square (091.AVI).  At another location, it’s too bad that I forgot what this sculpture (096, Constantine?) was!  Near there is a famous sculpture of Romulus and Remus (099).  This is looking down into the Roman forum (102).  Senatus Populus Que Romanus (SPQR, 103), Senate and People of Rome.  Proof that I was there! (107)  Whose arch is this? (114)  Approaching the Colusseum (115).  Inside the Colusseum (120.avi).  Sculpture in a nearby church (131).

This is the pine-cone sculpture at the Vatican (133).  Before & after cleaning display (135).  Hallway of sculptures at the Vatican (136). Another (137, Mercury?), another (138, Athena?), and another (140, isn’t this the end of Medusa?).  Can you guess that I like sculptures?  A wall-hanging tapestry (148).  This is the Sistine Chapel (150, from the outside, no pics allowed inside!)  However, inside St. Paul’s is OK (153.avi).  Photo inside (156).  Aren’t they Swiss guards? (166)  Can you see the (tiny) people at the top of St. Paul’s dome? (169)

It was a short (2-day) visit, but I squeezed in a lot in that time.
