Yosemite 2006
In early May 2006, I met my father & half-brother in Yosemite. Here is
a selection of pictures from that weekend.
There was plenty of water flowing, as seen in this image of Yosemite Falls.
Bridal-veil also had good flow. This is just upper
Y-falls, this is upper & lower, and just lower. This is Dad looking at a replica of an Indian house in the
outdoor museum behind the Valley
Visitor Center. The hotel we staying in was just outside the
National Park boundary, and it had lots of tree carvings, like this of raccoons. Later
that morning, the 3 of us were at the scenic
overlook with Half-Dome in the background.
I couldn’t photo all of a Giant Sequoia because they are so large, but
here is most of one. This one, the Grizzly
Giant, is theorized to be the oldest sequoia. This was the Wawona
hotel dining room, using the sepia feature of my camera. We also made it to the O’Shaughnessy
dam. And I stitched together two
photos to get this one of the Hetch-Hetchy reservoir. (this is the left-half
original)
