Yosemite camping, October 1999

I took a weekend trip to Yosemite with my friends Nancy, Ed, and Keith. We drove from LA to the southern entrance and stopped for a photo at tunnel view. The main purpose of the trip was to hike to the top of Half Dome. We started from Happy Isles in the valley floor, and took the John Muir trail towards Little Yosemite Valley. We stopped along the way for a rest and a view of Nevada falls. We stopped for another break at the top of Nevada falls. Finally, we setup camp and took a couple of photos.

The next morning, we headed towards Half Dome. This was my third attempt to reach the summit. There's a very picturesque stop along the way where you get a great view of the dome from the side. After that, you get to the infamous cables. We got a group photo at the top, and there's one of me on the "diving board". There was a long line of people who wanted to go up as we were coming down.

Coming back down was a breeze, and we hiked out the next day. All in all, it was a great trip!
