April 30
Ironically enough, given our level of tiredness, we had an early morning this day. Personally, I didn't sleep past 5:30 the entire week until we got to our hotel (I slept pretty well when I did sleep though). I think it was the annoying birds outside the window. Anyway, we were up and caught the bus at 7:55 precisely.
Our first stop was Ashdown Middle School. We were actually late due to traffic (not our fault for once), and missed the assembly we were supposed to be singing at. So we went straight into the classrooms.
We attended two Religious Survey classes, sang for both. A few of us gave testimonies which seemed to go over well. On the whole the kids were very attentive and involved, a nice change from our U.S. school system (Also they had cute little English accents).
In all our school singing we laisoned with PACE (People for the Advancement of Christian Education), a rather new startup group. They go into schools and start bible clubs, help in classrooms, and share their faith. Again, not something you see over here in America. They were nice and very happy to have us.
After that, we sang for half an hour at Avonbourne School, an all girls school. They were quite hyper, as only junior high girls can be, but interested in us.
To top it off, we went and visited an Old Folk's home. On the way there, the bus broke for about twenty minutes, thus leaving us too much time on our hands.

Lisa, Anna, and the other side of Paul's head.

Aiko, Josh, and Rachael.

The Old Folk's home was interesting. We were kinda tired at this point, and some of us were sick, so it wasn't our best performance ever. But they liked us anyway, and we spent some time talking to them.
Before heading back to Moorlands, we took a side trip to go shopping in Bournemouth.
The main center is like a hub with spokes of streets coming off of it. Nice variety of shops, including Thornton's, which boasts really, really good English toffee and chocolate.
For dinner, Josh, Paul, Aiko, Anna, Marlia, Lisa, and I, went to De Altos, a very nice Italian place. The plan was, since no one was incredibly hungry, was to order two pizzas and split them seven ways. However, a slight miscommunication with the waitress meant they made one pizza for everyone. So we all had a pizza. Fortunately, it was good pizza.
Back at the college, we had a group meeting in the girl's residence. I stayed afterwards with Josh, Anna, and Lisa to play cards, while some of our group went to a pub (yes, with people from Moorlands, no they didn't drink, and no, you don't want to make trouble for Dr. McCollum because of it).
Then, off to bed to ready myself for another action-packed day.
