John's Classic Mustang Page
Return to John's Web Links Page
I put this page in my list of pages because I own 1 1/2 Mustangs. One is only about half together, as it became a parts car for my sisters '66. The other is a '65 that is basically sound but is in real need of restoration. My idea for this page is to take pictures of the restoration as it progresses and to provide links to other sites on the web that I have found useful. I know the concept is not unique, but hey, maybe this one will better better than most.
Since I have just begun this page, I'll just talk about the project car as it sits now.Someone has made repairs to this car in the past, but I don't think very good repairs. It is mostly a rough primer grey and has some obvious bondo fills on it. It is kind of worn out mechanically but , as far as I can tell, it is mostly rust free.
Here is the ID plate stuff for those who are into the details:
Body = 65 Hardtop, Exterior Color = Silver Blue ,
Interior Trim = Blue and White Luxury ( Pony )
Built on May 15, Second production year, San Jose Ca. plant
Rear Axle = 2.8 : 1 ,Transmission = C-4 Auto, Engine = 289 2V
Extras: Factory Air, Front Disc Brakes
Here are the first pictures.

Now it starts coming apart. Everything is going in sealable freezer bags for identification and I'm making notes.
As of July ,1999, I have disassembled to motor completely and sent the heads in for rebuild.
Mustang LinksThis first link is to a page of many Mustang links. I've already found some good stuff there. In fact, I may not need to list any others since he has SO many sites on his page.
Tom Schmidt's Links to Ford Mustang Sites
A good site for questions and answers from people that have been there and done that is the Vintage Mustangs Forum.
