Writing about oneself can be either humbling or inflating, and those of you who don't know me yet should be informed that those who do know me would probably say that I've all the inflation necessary, so I won't exaggerate more or less than is minimally appropriate. Born in late 1974, I have no recollection of the Nixon administration, so I tend to not get many of the one liners that are bandied about regarding that particular president's term, although, as a student of history, I am passingly familiar with the period. My parents, Gigi and Frank, did not get along particularly well, which later turned out to be a god send at Christmastime, due to their divorce and happy remarriage to my step parents Lee and Cristina, meaning I had two sets of parents, and, subsequently, twice the loot. Life moved along uneventfully enough through my early years, all in beautiful Southern California; I played sports and did well in school, participated in music ensembles, and normal school boy activities. I was very fortunate that my parents gave me many opportunities to learn about all manner of things; culture, music, art, science, etc. I discovered Rock N' Roll in junior high (comes with the age), and learned the guitar, forming a rock/metal/punk band by my freshman year of high school... we ROCKED! I continued to do well in school, without much effort, and was fortunate to have several teachers who were stimulating, and creatively challenging. I eventually graduated and went to the wonderful University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA!!! Bruins Rule!) After much laziness, hanging about in dormitories, student apartments, parties, bars, and baseball fields, I graduated with a BA in History, with a personal emphasis in the history and culture of Japan, and a near minor in film analysis. Of course, if you want to make money, history is the wrong field. Which brings me to my current situation. During my last two years of college, I developed an interest in computers, and began to work on them as a hobby, then as a small side business. It was enough in this day and age to get me an entry level position as network administrator of a small company, and in that role I progressed quickly, my skills and education easily outpacing the small company's needs, and their ability to adequately compen$ate me. This brings me to my current position as network and web site administrator for QTC Management, in Diamond Bar, CA. I was lucky enough to me my girlfriend at QTC, so I have an ever present and pleasant lunch date, and cohort in complaining about management. That sums up my life so far, although there are plenty of pithy details if anybody is interested. Anybody=all you ladies out there. |
