Making a donation to Locks of Love
Earlier this year I decided to donate hair to Locks of Love, a non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to kids who, for medical reasons, don't have hair. Today (Sept. 15, 2004) I went into my hair stylist, Biyoshi, to get the deed done. One of my friends wanted to see pictures (because she didn't really believe I would do it), so here they are!
Here's what my hair looked like the day before.
In the chair, getting ready...
I took this shot over my shoulder as Biyoshi was making the cut - gulp!! No turning back now!
Yikes!
I had only wanted him to cut off 10 inches, but it appears he had a little trouble measuring, so it's more like 11.5-12 inches off. But that's okay - it'll grow back (I hope!). :)
The real "after" shot. For me, this is reallyreallyreally short. This is proably the shortest my hair has been in more than 13 (maybe more like 20!) years!
Bye Bye! May the child who receives this part of me be blessed!
