This site is dedicated to the ideas that brought about the foundation of a society that took a historical giant step forward in terms of morality. The result is that the United States of America was founded on the principles of individual rights and freedoms. For the benefit of my descendants, I would like to see the ideas and reality of that freedom perpetuated.

There exists a political party today that shares my values and desires. Sadly, there seem to be so few people willing to put forth the moral effort to learn what it is that a government should and should not do that I fear for the future of my children and theirs.

For a society to remain free there must be a clear definition of principles on which it is founded. That is the province of philosophy.

Once the principles are defined, a government must be instituted which operates within those principles and is the protector of the people of that society. When a government becomes the violator of those principles, it loses its legitimacy. (If this sounds familiar, read the second paragraph of the Declaration of Independence.)

It becomes at some point the responsibility of the people so governed to overturn the illegitimate government and replace it with a proper and legitimate one. This is a responsibility that should not and cannot be entrusted to politicians. This is a responsibility that is only undertaken by leaders who have a vested interest in freedom and the prosperity that it brings.

It has become obvious to me that such a government can be established but the limitations on its exercise of power must be clearly and explicitly established in language that does not permit the rampant abuses of authority as are prevalent throughout American society today.

What is even more disturbing to me today is the lack of anyone in a position of power today in whom I have the confidence to entrust the task of such an undertaking. The Democrats are working toward a Union of Soviet Socialist America by pursuing more legislation which gives the government greater confiscatory authority. The Republican Conservatives who so loudly proclaim themselves the less government party have done nothing to reduce the size or intrusiveness of government since taking control of Congress four years ago.

They are going along with the Democrats' proposals with perhaps reducing the scope somewhat but still supporting an ever increasing Federal bureaucracy. In all fairness, their Contract With America did overturn some of the most flagrant abuses of Congress; notably, legislative priveleges which made Congress exempt from laws it would inflict on the American people at large. So for this reason, I believe the Republicans have earned a modicum of respect unlike the Democrats who have earned only disgust, disdain and contempt.

Politicians have a vested interested in maintaining the status quo [which, after all, has them in positions of power]. It is in direct opposition to their personal benefit to maintain a legitimate government in a free society because that strips them of their power and it is from their position of power that they derived what passes for self-esteem.

Look at today's Democratic Party, for example. Their mindless defense of such a thug as Clinton is a complete abdication of principle. Why? Because their pursuit is not principles; their pursuit is not the good of society; their purpose is not the sustenance of freedom; it is not equality in any sense. There is only one sense in which there is true equality and their rhetoric today is in direct opposition to that idea.
