Dr.
Frank and Bessie Beck dedicated their lives to helping the people of
Bolivia. They worked as teachers and directors of childrens' boarding
schools and Ward College, then returned to the U.S. to enable Frank
to study medicine at Northwestern University in Illinois. Five years
later, Frank returned as a doctor of medicine and Bessie was a year
away from completing her doctoral studies. Between 1912 and 1969, their
accomplishments and achievements can be measured in the hearts of the
people that he inoculated, treated, and babies that he delivered. An
Aymara Indian Chieftain credits Dr. Beck by saying, "He brought
my people back to life."
This biography is written by their son. |
