5 freeway north  over the grapevine to the...
Hw99 North for 25 miles (thru Bakersfield) to the...
Hw178 exit, go right (East), you'll be on city streets for 2 miles, then the highway will pick-up again, continue for another 35 or so miles to the... Lake Isabella Exit, turn left onto the....
Hw155 North,  go  0.6 mile, turn left on dirt road. (A sign that says:
Keysville South Recreation Center / BLM South Boat Launch.) Drive down to the river, look andlisten, where we are.  We will try to camp close to a porta-potty.


The Kern River Canyon is winding and dangerous, drive slowly and let hotrodders pass.
