Natural Resources Defense Council Project

An existing apartment and office building completely renovated implementing the environmentally responsible standards set by LEED. Complete demolition and removal of a 2-story apartment building and a portion of the office building. The remaining building expands to aprox 14,939 s.f., including a basement, all in a very tight urban area. Use of soldier beams with lagging shoring, underpinning of existing adjacent footings and Type V wood framed construction. Many new innovative building materials, recycled content, indoor air quality and in-depth commissioning is required. The project represents an excellent example of sustainable design and construction.
