Greater Roadrunner
Southwestern USA

The roadrunner comes
from a family of clowns, the cuckoos. Most
westerners who live in rural areas consider watching roadrunners to be a
birthright. The carving was done in the
mid 1980s, as a commission from a co-worker who wanted a gift for her father. A unique feature is that the color was done
entirely with the wood burner rather than paint.
