Two Talented Young Women

Natalie
writes brilliant stories, and was writing poetry by 4th grade that
made her teachers weep. Here is one of
her photographs that most observers consider stunning. The subject is her sister Colleen. Photo copyright Natalie St. John, 1998.
Here
is how Natalie describes her process of rewriting and reworking a story:
"Hi pops,
I took yer advice to heart and did some serious cutting and pasting, as well as
eliminating, expounding, revising and restructuring. I thought outside the box, down-sized, found pro-active solutions
to real-life problems, worked smarter instead of harder, and organized a values-based
committee to objectively evaluate the company culture and brain-storm ideas for
increasing department morale, while at the same time embracing diversity,
keeping in mind the clearly stated objectives of the corporate mission
statement, and eliminating unnecessary expense by firing the think-tank, and
hiring twelve year old Indonesians to do the job.
Thanks."
Colleen
writes hilarious stories and does a great stand-up, if she knows you well
enough to let her hair down. She is a
scream when she does her impressions, accents, and funny voices. I will post an example of her humor as soon
as I can get one out of her.
