Youth Evaluation Service
Few adults can look back on their youth without remembering some “not so legal” escapades that could have been serious if continued. Today’s youth are no different. However, perhaps due to better police protection, more laws, or a wary citizenry, greater numbers of juveniles are apprehended and processed into the juvenile justice system. Once they become a part of the justice system, chances for redirecting those juveniles may lessen. Public agencies in the San Jacinto Valley realize that every effort must be made to stop juvenile delinquency before, not after a pattern is established. Valley-Wide Outreach Services and Riverside County Probation Departments offer a special referral program called Youth Evaluation Service (Y.E.S.) to deal with youth who are first time offenders.
