You are looking at the address of my very first website. I set this page up sometime late in the summer of 1995, and I never really did much with the poor thing. I'd refine the style every now and then (I remember when tables were first introduced! Yikes!), spruce up the content a bit, but by and large my ideas for the site were never actually transformed into reality. It served its purpose, though. I remember one of my former co-workers commented that he thought my page was "pure comedy," and this was a term of appreciation. Yes, I was a smart ass even back then. I listed my age as being "old enough to know better, but younger than Jeanne Calment at the time of her death." I teased my two or three visitors that they must not have much more of a life than I did, as they were actually bothering to read all that stuff. I updated so rarely that I actually got congratulatory e-mails (thank you, Karla!) when I did. So here we are, two college degrees later, in 2002. I'm not sure who's still poking around this page, or if indeed anyone remembers that it exists. Even given my occupation, though, people still surprise me, and so I thought I should put this note up here for those who wander by. I will soon be closing my Linkline account. I have been with Linkline for almost seven years now, ever since they absorbed the user base of Star-Tech BBS's fledgling Internet service. They're a great company. They never raised my rates, provided good connections and mail service, and I never had a complaint about them (well, except maybe a busy signal here and there). In fact, if you're in the Southern California metro area and need dialup or DSL service, check them out. Why am I leaving if they're so great? Simply put, I'm not in Southern California anymore. I can still get dialup service, but not DSL, and I'm not well-heeled enough to maintain both a DSL and a dial-up account with two different companies. So, I fear it's time to bid Linkline adieu. I have set up a new, more frequently updated page that you are welcome to visit. I make only one request: please leave me a comment if you read this and check the new site out. I'm curious to see who still knows of this old address, especially if we've been out of touch for a while. I'm looking forward to hearing from you.
