Photography has been an ongoing and continuing process of the Teal Family since the late 1800s when Eastman Kodak was instrumental by providing film and professional cameras to start the Family's business. See History Les Teal started his career with a camera at the age of twelve. He worked in the family business photographing people and doing lab work. At the age of 19 he became an Official Photographer for the U.S. Air Force. Since then Mr. Teal has worked throughout the United States and the world as a commercial and industrial photographer for the government, private industry, and educational institutes where he has given lectures, workshops, and built and managed photographic labs. When Les Teal attended San Francisco State University learning photo journalism, he received special training from Life Magazine photographer Fran Ortiz. Mr. Teals work at NASA as a videographer and TV production specialist won him an international award for his documentation and production of a training video. For over twenty-five years Mr. Teals skill with a camera and his creative lighting techniques have enabled him to record on film everything from space shuttle landings at NASA to meeting President Bush with King Faud of Saudi Arabia. He has photographed sporting events, and structures all over the world including Greece, Paris, The Republic of China, Egypt, and the Middle East. His photographs and films have been used in annual reports, brochures, local and international news media, and in house publications. He continues to work as a staff photographer for NASA in California and freelances in his spare time. Mr. Teal continues to attend classes and events in video and multimedia production to keep in tune with this ever evolving state of the art technology. |
