Keith Huff (FIERO DOC) has to be one of the foremost authorities on this unique
American made mid-engine sports car. There is only one place in the Orange
County region were anyone should have their Pontiac Fiero serviced, and that is
Fiero Motorsports. Fiero Motorsports are the Pontiac specialists, based in
Westminster, CA and are dedicated solely to the needs of the Pontiac Fiero.
Pontiac began manufacturing the Fiero in 1984 and it's short life only lasted
until 1988 before Pontiac pulled the plug on the line due to declining sales.
This was unfortunate for many Fiero enthusiasts in America because just prior
to the cancellation of the line, most of the manufacturing "bugs" that haunted
the early models were worked out. Sadly enough, at the time when the last car
rolled off the assembly line, Pontiac was putting out excellent cars. Though
the general public had only the reviews for early models, most late model Fiero
owners will tell you that the car never really had a chance to shine.
Well, fortunately for Southern CA Fiero owners, Keith Huff is well known in the automotive community as the "Fiero Doc" and if you have seen his orange coupe fly by you on the streets of Orange County, you may already know why. While most car enthusiasts take pride in their favorite make or model automobile, it is quite obvious that the "Fiero Doc" has driven the extra mile with the Pontiac Fiero. When he purchased his own car as a "stolen/stripped vehicle", he completely restored it from the ground up with all of the enhancements available for the car. With his passion for the car and a little imagination, he picked up were Pontiac had left off, continuing to refine many of the car's components in search of higher performance specifications. The result is his 3.4L high performance V6 (with plans in the making for a Cadillac Northstar V8 conversion), a custom made performance header system and the car sits firmly mounted on a fully custom suspension package that will humble most performance sportscars on the road. The good news is that many of the new features built into this car are available for your own car through Fiero Motorsports.
