Thank you for your recent inquiry regarding our net metering program. Here is the net metering (E-NET) package of information. The package contains the application form, the interconnection agreement, and related websites, including the web addresses for PG&E's Electric Rate Schedules. As a reminder, E-NET only applies to residential and commercial customers with demand less than 20kW and who install PV solar, wind or hybrids of both with capacity of 10kW or less. PG&E is interested
in making your application as easy as possible while ensuring that all
operating and safety requirements are met. Please note that the following
requirements must be met before we can place * You must meet all interconnection requirements specified in PG&E's Electric Rule 21 (see website below) which includes protection and metering specifications. * PG&E is currently
using the CEC list of certified inverters, at http://www.energy.ca.gov/greengrid/certified_inverters.html,
to determine if an inverter can be considered "certified." PG&E
will not allow interconnection of any unit that has not been previously
approved for * PG&E's protection requirements will vary depending on its location on the PG&E's circuit. PG&E withholds the right to install, at your expense, any additional protection equipment necessary to ensure safe and reliable operation of its facilities. The need of any additional facilities can only be determined after I receive the information described below. * PG&E must receive clearance from the local authority which has jurisdiction over the installation of the PV and/or wind system (i.e. county or city building department). * You must sign PG&E's "Interconnection Agreement For Net Energy Metering For Residential And Small Commercial Solar Or Wind Electric Generating Facilities Of 10 Kilowatts Or Less"; PG&E Standard Form No. 79-854 (copy attached). I will prepare a copy for your signature just prior to you paralleling your system to the grid. * You must have in force, and maintain for the duration of the agreement, all risk property insurance and comprehensive personal liability insurance in amounts no less than what you currently have in effect. * You will need to allow PG&E to perform a final inspection of the system prior in order for PG&E to ensure that the system has been installed in accordance with the originally submitted specifications. In order to start the process, fill out the enclosed "PG&E Application for E-NET, attach the project details (including a single line diagram showing all the devices for the PV system, equipment ratings, wire sizes, disconnect switch (or lockable visible isolating device), grounding of equipment, the model of the inverter, the inverter UL Certification Number (based on UL 1741)), and return along with the requested information to: Electric Transmission
Services or, by electronic mail to Gen@pge.com. Please call me if you have any additional questions, at (415) 972-5676.
