My house is nestled at the west edge of the Pomona valley, within the larger San Gabriel Valley. Just 30 miles east of downtown LA - only an hour or two by freeway... ;-)

I use the Caltrans map twice daily for my commute (the glaring red line from work to home, there on the map). It's an invaluable resource, and a great example of the kind of thing the Net is good for.
If you don't know where LA is, quit surfing and go take a geography course. If you have lots of time, and simply must learn from the Web, have a look at the 48 contiguous United States.
