There are two very different approaches to better health. Recently over 60% of the people surveyed indicated that they were inclined to choose the Alternative Wellness Approach to maintain their health and seek the Traditional Medical Approach only for medical emergencies. Click below for a discussion of each. The Traditional
Medicine Approach
The Traditional Medicine Approach Traditional medicine is focused on treating sickness rather than staying well. In his recent newsletter, Dr. Mercola referred to this as the "sickness business" as opposed to the "wellness revolution". Traditional medicine's common use of "man made drugs" is almost entirely centered on treating symptoms and not the cause of the problem. A prime example of this was the treatment of stomach ulcers. For years a common treatment was to surgically remove the ulcer along with a portion of the stomach. This approach resulted in a lifelong condition of modified digestion frequently causing mild to extreme distress depending on what foods were eaten. I witnessed this first hand after my mother had a large portion of her stomach removed due to ulcers. The other treatment for ulcers was the use of prescription drugs such as Tagamet and Zantac to minimize the symptoms. In 1982, Australian physicians Robin Warren and Barry Marshall discovered that ulcers could be CURED in one week with a combination of bismuth subsalicylate and a common antibiotic. Even though this discovery was published in medical journals, it took 15 years for the CDC to launch a national education campaign to inform health care providers and consumers and for traditional medicine to adopt the "cure" as the standard treatment. In the mean time, the prescription drugs (the most profitable ones for the drug companies with sales of over $8 billion per year) which were used to treat the ulcers were made available "over-the-counter" (OTC) for the treatment of heartburn and stomach upset. In the summer of 2005 the Australian physicians Robin Warren and Barry Marshall were awarded the Nobel prize for finding a "cure" for ulcers. I believe the reason it took so long for traditional medicine to adopt their cure is that doctors are steeped in the teachings of the drug companies. They are trained to prescribe drugs that control the symptoms and prolong the condition thereby requiring a lifelong dependence on the drugs. This could not be further from the concept of "wellness". An article by Christopher Kent, DC, JD (click here for the full text) was recently published in Dr. Mercola's newsletter stating the following:
The Wellness Revolution Approach Alternative health care
professionals recommend the following:
This is our definition of health insurance. Health
Insurance: A program in which an individual who is concerned about potential
health risks will use products committed to the concept that you can avoid
medical and/or hospital expenses by boosting your immune system.
The use of ionic colloidal silver is a major step in the direction of wellness.

Health
Insurance: A program in which an individual who is concerned about potential
risks will pay premiums to an insurance company, who in return, will reimburse
them if there is loss due to medical and/or hospital expenses.
Traditional
health insurance only deals with the financial aspect of being sick.
Health insurance provides NO protection for the pain and suffering you
experience when you get sick. At best, health insurance is only a
half a loaf when it comes to protecting you. Is there a better way?
We think so. Click here to learn about our approach.
