Control Disease In Your Pets' World

Your pets deserve the best protection you can provide.  When you treat your pets' environment with Pet-GaardTM you minimize the chance of your pets getting sick.

I have maintained a humming bird feeder for many years.  The nuisance of preparing the feeding solution and cleaning the feeder has been virtually eliminated by using Pet-GaardTM

Note that the photo on the right shows that the feeder is nearly empty, yet there is no mold inside the feeder.  There is, however, mold growth on the bee guards.

Mold growth inside the feeder was always a problem during the hot weather here in California.  Contaminants are introduced into the feeder when the birds feed.  In two to three days there would be enough mold inside the feeder that a through cleaning was necessary.

By adding Pet-GaardTM to the feeding solution the feeder stays clean for more than two weeks or until the bottle needs to be refilled.  A simple rinse with warm water and refilling with prepared solution is all that is needed.

All the surfaces in the feeder which are kept wet with solution do not grow mold.  I do find it necessary to clean the bee guards and external surfaces occasionally since they are not kept wet with solution.

During a recent refilling of the feeder I noticed an interesting growth of mold on the lid and rim of the supply jar.  When this batch of food was mixed I carefully poured the Pet-GaardTM directly into the liquid in the jar.  The sugary juice on the rim did not get treated with Pet-GaardTM.  After a few weeks in the refrigerator the mold grew on the untreated rim and lid, BUT NOT IN THE TREATED LIQUID.

Further evidence that mold will not grow in a mixture treated with Pet-GaardTM.

I mix a supply of feeding solution which is kept in the refrigerator until needed.  The mixture consists of four cups of water, passed through a faucet mounted PurTM water filter to eliminate the chlorine, with one cup of regular sugar, one drop of red food coloring (I have recently stopped adding food coloring to the mixture) and two ounces of Pet-GaardTM to control mold growth.  I do not find it necessary to boil the mixture to kill harmful bacteria or control mold growth.

Before I used Pet-GaardTM I was aware that the feeding mixture would ferment in the warm weather in about a week.   This is not a problem when using Pet-GaardTM.  After two weeks in the sun, the mixture is as sweet and tastes the same as the supply which has been stored in the refrigerator.

The environment is loaded with bacteria, mold, fungus and viruses. Many can make your pets very sick and could even kill them. Protecting your environment from these harmful sources, known as pathogens, is vital to your pets' health and happiness.

Bio-GaardTM products can help you control your environment to minimize the chance of infection and disease.
