One user reported that he used ionic silver to treat a major injury to his horse.  The animal was spooked while in a stall causing it to bring one of its legs down on the edge of a piece of sheet metal.  The result was a 3 inch by 4 inch slice of flesh (skin and muscle weighing over a pound) was carved out of the leg down to the bone.  I saw a photo of the original injury.

A vet was called immediately and his opinion was that if the horse was not hospitalized (at a cost of over $8,000) it would surely not survive and would need to be destroyed.  The owner did not have the ability to pay for the hospitalization but he wanted to save the horse. 

He decided to treat the horse himself.  He first flushed the wound with peroxide to remove any dead flesh.  Then he flushed the wound with tap water to clear out any debris and sprayed the wound using ionic silver.  After applying a dressing to the wound, he soaked the bandage with more ionic silver.  He also added ionic silver to the horse's drinking water to internally guard against infection.

The dressing was changed daily, each time following the procedure of treating the wound first with peroxide, then ionic silver followed with soaking the dressing with more ionic silver.  After about a week there were definite signs of healing.  The bone was being covered over with a mat of new cells and there was no sign of infection.  Several photos were taken as the healing progressed.

In time, the wound was healed over with fresh skin including a covering of normal hair.  In the final photo it was impossible to see where the horse had been injured. 

To everyone's amazement, even the muscle flesh grew back.  One of the amazing characteristics of ionic silver is the reported ability to promote new cell growth.  Instead of the scar tissue which normally covers a wound, new skin and muscle cells develop.
