It is impossible to provide the wildlife in your environment the same level of care and protection that you give your pets.  However, there are things you can do to help them.

By following the same procedures as you would for your pets, you can go a long way to help the wildlife.  Providing clean treated drinking water can help improve the immune system of the critters living in your yard.

Follow these simple steps to have a cleaner and safer environment for your wildlife.

Prevention generally takes the form of the following:
1. Treating your pets' environment.
2. Treating what your pets eat and drink.

1. Treating the environment involves general cleanliness and the occasional application of something to reduce the harmful infectious bacteria, fungus and viruses where your pets frequent.  Lightly spraying your pets' bedding, and other areas with Pet-GaardTM will kill most pathogens which can attack your pet.  Pet-GaardTM is a non staining and non-toxic solution making it safe and convenient.

2. Treating what your pets eat and drink involves the addition of a small amount of Pet-GaardTM to what they consume.  This is usually most easily done by treating the supply of drinking water.  Adding two ounces of Pet-GaardTM to a half gallon of drinking water will enhance your pets' immune system so your pets can fight off sickness and infection.  You can either add it to the water bottle as shown in the Drinking Water link or you can keep a premixed bottle for when it is needed.  The stored premix should be kept in a dark place or wrapped in aluminum foil to keep out the light.  I find it convenient to store mine in the refrigerator, though this is not necessary.

The environment is loaded with bacteria, mold, fungus and viruses. Many of these can make animals very sick and could even kill them. Protecting your environment from these harmful sources, known as pathogens, is vital to your wildlife's health and happiness.
